“Living God’s Word: Practical Lessons for Applying Scripture to Life” Led by Tom Barrett (Rm. 104 – lower level)    This exciting six-week study will give you practical tools for understanding and applying God’s Word.  Many believers come to the banquet of God’s Word but go away hungry. God wants you to partake of His Word as your daily nourishment, to digest its truths, and to live the Word as it becomes the very substance of your being. God’s truth and power transform you when you read and apply His  word!  Workbook, $10.

“Search & Rescue: Becoming a Disciple who Makes a Difference.” (Neil Cole)  Led by Scott Gaffner (Rm. 203 – main level)   Christians today are on a rescue mission.  Each of us is called to get involved in God’s plan to make disciples.  Church planter Neil Cole knows about saving lives: he is a former California lifeguard.  In Search & Rescue he takes the lessons learned from that experience and applies them to our mission of rescuing people from darkness and leading them into the kingdom of God.  Weaving together his personal experiences of saving lives with biblical principles for how to make and multiply disciples, Cole shows how to create ‘Life Transformation Groups’ that can help a Christian grow in a safe and transparent relationship with one or two other spiritual pilgrims.  Book, $12.

“Study Methods: Experiencing the Power of God’s Word.” Led by Eric Casteel (Rm. 105 – lower level)  Just as a carpenter needs the right tools to do accurate work, you need certain tools to do fruitful Bible study.  This guide will help you learn how to use concordances, dictionaries and other resources.  You will practice new study methods – word study, character study and so on – that will reveal the truths of God’s Word.  With these tools and methods at hand, you will handle God’s word with confidence and anticipation.  Study guide, $4.

“Forgotten God: Reversing our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit.” (Francis Chan) Led by James Benjamin (Rm. 106 – lower level)  Do you desire to understand and experience more of the Holy Spirit?  This seven-session video resource offers a compelling invitation to understand, embrace, and follow the Holy Spirit’s direction in our lives…helping us move beyond our habits of neglect and pursue a life defined by the Spirit of God.  Workbook, $10.

“Romans 12: Becoming an R12 Christian”  Led by Pastor Dave Krueger (Office Conference Rm. – main level)   Ever tried slowing down and really wrestling with the implications of a single passage of Scripture?  Romans 12 is probably about as close as you can get to a ‘one-stop-shop’ in seeing the fullness of what a believer’s life should be.  “In Romans 12 the Apostle Paul begins outlining the personal and practical application of the doctrine he lays out in Romans 1 – 11.  Paul describes the Christian life in 5 categories: relationship with God, relationship with the world, relationship with ourselves, relationship with others, and relationship with non-believers.”

“Ashes to Fire: Lent and Easter” (Mar. 7th – Apr. 4th) “Ashes to Fire: Acts of the Apostles” (Apr. 11th – May 30th) Led by Tom Davis (Rm. 204 – main level)   Lent and Easter: “Walking with Jesus through the traumatic final events of His earthly life, we gain unusual insights to help us in our own spiritual journey.”  Acts of the Apostles: “In this unit we watch the Church–both as a community and as individuals–expand and develop, led by the spreading flame of the Holy Spirit throughout the book of Acts.”

She peels back the layers of history and shows how very contemporary and applicable the story of Esther is to our lives. If you’ve ever felt inadequate, threatened, or pushed into situations that seemed overpowering, this is the study for you. Just as it was tough being a woman in Esther’s day, it’s tough today. This portion of God’s Word contains treasures to aid us in our hurried, harried, and pressured lives.”  Workbook, $15.
