Get Out the Good News / Heart, Soul, Strength: Deuteronomy – Led By Tom Davis Note: this class is from June 7 – August 19  Get Out the Good News: “Good news is worth celebrating with a community. It is difficult to have a party in isolation from others. When babies are born, parents share pictures, and inform the local newspaper with the exciting details because they want to celebrate the good news with others. Christians have the best reason to celebrate without ceasing. We have good news to share with the world!”    Hearth, Soul, Strength: Deuteronomy: In this unit we will go in depth in the book of Deuteronomy, reviewing it’s history and covenants.

Out of the Question and Into the Mystery! – Led by Brad Lockwood (Room 106 – lower level)
Starting on July 11th, Brad Lockwood will be teaching a Sunday School class during the 9:30 hour for any and all adults who are interested in attending.  The class is entitled “Out of the Question and Into the Mystery” and will be a discussion of our relationship with God and others in comparison to the rules and regulations that we place on Christianity.  Loosely based on a book by Christian author Leonard Sweet, the class will delve into what our society perceives Christianity to be and how we have “missed the person” in order to “get the point.”  A quote from the introduction of the book encapsulates the essence of what Brad hopes the class will be:  “The way to save the world is not through more rules to live by, but through right relationships to live for.”  No book purchase will be necessary, Brad is planning on providing weekly outlines for all who attend.  Please join Pastor Brad and others as we learn and grow together to be more in tune with what Christ wants for our lives and for those we know!

Other Opportunities

If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you’ve probably found that there are not many people who understand the loss of someone close. That’s the reason for Grief Share, a special 13-week seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. Each Grief Share session includes a video seminar featuring top experts on grief and recovery subjects. These videos also include on-location settings and the real-life stories of people who have experienced losses like yours. After viewing the video, you’ll participate in a small group discussion about what you’ve seen. You’ll also have the opportunity to interact with others who’ve experienced a recent loss, learn about their experiences and have the opportunity to share your own.

A Grief Share group is starting at WFMC on Thursdays at 7 pm beginning May 27th. Contact the church office at 655-3668 if you are interested in attending these sessions led by Mim Cobb and Barb VanderLaan.
