Women’s Shelter….Servers are desperately needed at the Lansing City Rescue Mission’s women’s and children’s shelter on second Sunday evenings from 5:30-7:45. Please call Kira James to sign up! 339-2438 or rickandkira@hotmail.com.

Every year the Lansing City Rescue Mission holds a barrel drive to help “pack the pantry.” Your generosity helps meet the need to feed hungry men, women, and children throughout the capital area.  Last year, the Mission served over 82,000 meals and provided over 360 boxes of food to low income families.       WFMC has a yellow barrel in the lobby. Please bring your non-perishable food items to fill the barrel. The barrel will be in the lobby through the holidays. If you have questions, please contact Barb VanderLaan at 339-1062.

We are asking individuals and groups to help with distribution of Angel Food each month. If your group would like to help out, please sign up at the Angel Food table in the lobby or contact Kathy Fleming.

Meals on Wheels is looking for volunteers to help deliver meals to people in the Williamston & Webberville area. Volunteers keep local Meals On Wheels programs running – and they keep hungry seniors fed. Reliable volunteers are critical for program.  This program provides hot, nutritious meals Monday through Friday. Meals are delivered between 10:30 and 12:00 noon weekdays. Your volunteer schedules can be set up according to your individual preferences. You can deliver one or more times each month. Some volunteers deliver during their lunch hours. Meals are picked up for delivery in downtown Williamston. Volunteers must be 18 years of age, have a car, a valid driver’s license and good references. Training is provided and mileage reimbursement is available.  What Does A Meals On Wheels Volunteer Look Like?  Meals On Wheels volunteers come in all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities. Our volunteers are Brownies and Cub Scouts, high school and college students, professionals, retirees, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents – and even a few great-great grandparents. Some like to go out and visit seniors; some like to work behind the scenes – and all have generous hearts. In other words, Meals On Wheels volunteers look just like you. If you would like to help, please contact Patsy Gaffner at 281-8598, the Meals on Wheels office in Mason at 676-2775 or pick up a brochure in the church lobby!
